Praise Rossi For The Retired Lorenzo

JAKARTA - Ahead of the Valencia Grand Prix, on Thursday local time, Jorge Lorenzo, accompanied by Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta, officially announced his retirement plan after the 2019 season ended. Many parties feel that they are missing this great figure. Including Valentino Rossi.

According to The Doctor, MotoGP is missing one of its best parts, one of the fast, talented and important MotoGP riders of the modern era.

"I have a lot of memories with Jorge because we were teammates in many seasons at Yamaha and he was always a good motivation as a partner because he was very strong, full of concentration and always gave the maximum," said Rossi, launching the official MotoGP page.

Rossi spent seven seasons with Lorenzo at Yamaha (2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) as a teammate and rival. The most memorable thing for the 40-year-old racer was his battle with Lorenzo at the 2009 Catalunya Grand Prix.

"We fought for the championship that season but especially we fought all weekend to win that race. In the end I won at the last corner but the fight was epic, one of the best races in my entire career," said the fan of the Inter Milan football club. .

"At the end we hugged, beautiful memories. That is the best memory I have ever had," he continued.

During their time as teammates, the two of them managed to contribute four titles, Rossi in 2008 and 2009 while Lorenzo in 2010 and 2015. Lorenzo added one more title for Yamaha in 2012 when Rossi was in his second year with Ducati.

During his 18 years on the asphalt, Lorenzo won the MotoGP world title in 2010, 2012 and 2015 with Yamaha. He was also the 250cc world champion - now Moto2 - in 2006 and 2007.
