JAKARTA - Beautiful presenter, Laura Woods, is now starting to cultivate boxing. His interest arose from his duty to cover the fighting sport.

In fact, he is currently being trained by former world boxing champion, James DeGale. The 36-year-old man tried to inherit his boxing ability to Woods.

DeGale has previously won two super-middleweight world titles between 2009 and 2019 with 25 wins, 15 KOs and just three defeats.

Wood's desire to get into the ring came after he was commissioned with Maya Jama by Eddie Hearn to present DAZN boxing coverage last year.

Woods admits he has little hope for a potential fight, but he also has a lot to learn with DeGale.

"I'm a regular boxing fan, but I'm no expert," Woods told Fozcast.

"I love knowledge in what I do and I was like 'this s*** is going to be a lot of work', so when I accepted it (Hearn's offer to cover boxing) I immersed myself in it."

"I started working with Tony Bellew and I watched (boxing) with him and I said 'Tony, I need to know more about this, I want to be able to score goals myself' and sometimes professional boxers can't score goals properly," continued Woods.

With his interest in boxing and feeling challenged to know more, Woods then asked Tony about a boxing coach. That then became the beginning of his meeting with DeGale.

“I felt the only way I could do it was if I studied it. I said, 'You know, do you know anyone who can help me, who can coach me?

“And he was like 'yes my friend is chunky, here it is' then he texted and shared his number with me. When I opened it, I realized, Chunky was James DeGale. So James DeGale is my boxing coach," explained Wood.

When he found out that DeGale was coaching him, Woods said he was happy and always excited when training days arrived. Moreover, DeGale is also a good coach because he always ensures the safety of Woods, who is new to boxing.

"Once a week we go and train together and it's great," Woods said. "He (DeGale) is very good. If I do something wrong, I feel very guilty because he seems to want to make sure I'm okay."

Although now starting to practice, but the only fights that Woods has so far been able to face is an argument. He admits his boxing skills still need to be improved.
