Irish Golfer Rory McIlroy Once Failed To Win A Tournament For Spending A 'Busy' Night In Nork With Meghan Markle

JAKARTA – Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy is said to have enjoyed a 'busy' night with Meghan Markle and ended up failing in a tournament. This is revealed in the latest book entitled 'Revenge: Meghan Harry and the war Between the Windsors' written by Tim Bower.

In the book, The Duchess of Sussex is said to be close friends with McIlroy before meeting Prince Harry, who is now her husband. Meghan, then 33, met McIlroy while staying with a close friend at the Fitzpatrick Manhattan Hotel, in New York.

The former actress who had starred in the Suits series then nominated McIlroy to take part in the Ice Bucket Challenge at the end of 2014.

After that, they went to dinner at the upscale Cipriani restaurant with about 20 of their friends. Celebrations lasted until late into the night drinking.

As a result, McIlroy could not perform optimally in a tournament the next day. He even had to give up and his position slumped to 101st.

"He accepted the challenge, on the condition that McIlroy come to his friend's apartment and personally splash ice water on him on the balcony," Bower wrote, according to the Daily Star.

"After the video was posted, the two went to the Fitzpatrick hotel for a drink. The next morning, McIlroy arrived at the Ringwood golf course to play in a new competition. After a busy night, he fell to 101st. His performance dropped," continued Bower.

Rory McIlroy has just been very poor in his bid to win The Open at St Andrews this week. He lost to Australian star Cameron Smith.

"I'm only human. I'm not a robot. Of course you think about it and imagine it," he said when asked if he imagined what it would be like to win the Claret Jug at St Andrews.
