13 Lechia Gdansk Players Are Positive For COVID-19, Egy Maulana Vikri Must Be Isolated

JAKARTA - As many as 13 players and seven staff at the club where Egy Maulana Vikri is based, Lechia Gdansk, tested positive for COVID-19. The results were known after the club conducted a test.

Polish media, Sport Trojmiastro reported, Lechia Gdansk, on October 29 announced positive cases of several players.

The team then carried out a second isolation and test of 50 people in the club. The results were known on Wednesday, November 4. In total, 20 people tested positive for COVID-19.

"Basically half the team has been infected. In this list, there are several players who have been called up to the national team at the international break next week, including Dusan Kuciak (Slovakia), Kristen Tobers (Latvia) and Karol Fila (Poland U-21)," said Arkadiusz Brulinski.

Due to this incident, Lechia Gdansk's match against Olimpia Grudz in the Polish Cup was postponed to Wednesday, November 18. Meanwhile, the match week nine against Śląsk Wrocław was shifted to Friday, 20 November.

All players and staff returned to self-isolation. Especially for players, they were instructed to practice at home independently.

So what about Egy Maulana Vikri? The team did not mention in detail who the players were positive for COVID-19. But for sure Egy is obliged to isolate according to the club's instructions.
