Matthijs De Ligt Rumored To Chelsea, Juventus CEO: Impossible To Keep Players When They Want To Leave Club

JAKARTA - Rumors of Matthijs de Ligt's move to Chelsea are getting louder. The Juventus player has reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea.

This news was further heated by the comments of Juventus CEO, Maurizio Arrivabene. He said it was difficult to keep the player.

The reason, continued Arrivabene, De Ligt already wants to move to Chelsea. However, of course, an agreement must be reached by three parties, namely the player, Chelsea and Juventus.

"It is impossible to keep players when they want to leave the club. However, all three parties in the negotiation process must be satisfied," said Arrivabene.

Chelsea are eager to get a new defender. Understandably, the English Premier League club has lost two of their strongholds, Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid and Andres Christensen to Barcelona.

Apart from De Ligt, Chelsea are also reportedly interested in Manchester City defender Nathan Ake. Both players are mentioned as a priority from Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel.

Meanwhile, Juventus will certainly experience inequality in defense if De Ligt leaves. Previously, they had also lost Giorgio Chiellini who decided not to extend his contract with I Bianconerri.

A growing issue, Juventus is now looking at Paris Saint-Germain player, Presnel Kimpembe. The 22-year-old player is considered very suitable to fill the Serie A club's defense.
