Hakan Calhanoglu Clarifies 'Attacks' For Simone Inzaghi And Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Fines Still Threatening

JAKARTA - Inter Milan midfielder, Hakan Calhanoglu, is threatened with a fine from the club. This is the aftermath of his outspoken criticism of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Simone Inzaghi.

Calhanoglu's comments went viral and then caused tension between Inter Milan and AC Milan, especially among fans.

Quoted from Italian Football, this started when Calhanoglu was interviewed at Tivibu Sport in Turkey. In the interview, Calhanoglu hit back at Zlatan Ibrahimovic's statement and criticized his coach at Inter Milan Simone Inzaghi.

Simone Inzaghi was sprayed by Calhanoglu for replacing him during the Milan Derby last February. When Calhanoglu was withdrawn, Inter, who had been winning 1-0, lost 1-2.

Realizing what he said had become a scene, Calhanoglu himself had clarified his statement about Inzaghi. According to Calhanoglu, his statement had been misinterpreted.

He admitted that he had no intention of criticizing Inzaghi. "Apparently, some of my words were misinterpreted by some media," said Calhanoglu.

"I have never criticized any coach, let alone Inzaghi, who I consider a great coach and a person who really wanted me at Inter, put his trust in me."

"If my team-mates and I have a great season and win two trophies, it's the result of his performance," Calhanoglu added.

Not only was it considered attacking Inzaghi, in the interview Calhanoglu also attacked Ibrahimovic who had mocked him during Milan's title celebrations in May.

The Swedish striker is suspected of inciting Milan fans to insult Calhanoglu who moved to Inter. The same source also said that some unscrupulous Milan fans sang unpleasant chants against the mother of the Turkish midfielder, which infuriated Calhanoglu.

According to the Italian Football report, Calhanoglu had actually informed the club about the interview. However, the club still did not like it and decided to impose a fine on Calhanoglu.

However, it is not known how much the fine will be imposed on the player who scored seven goals and 13 assists from 34 matches in Serie A last season.
