JAKARTA — The Malaysian men's doubles pair Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik praised the mentality of competing with Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan.

Aaron/Soh and Pramudya/Yeremia met in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Open 2022 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday, 17 June 2022. This match was marred by Jeremiah's injury at the end of the third game.

The incident occurred when Pramudya / Jeremiah were leading 20-18 in the third game. Jeremiah whose left leg was twisted immediately fell and complained of pain.

He immediately received medical treatment for some time. Even the referee had hinted that Jeremiah should step down, but the instructions were not heeded.

"Maybe we don't think much, if our team is leading, we don't think, if we are leading, we will fight, respect him, if you see he has high spirits," said Aaron after the game.

Pramudya/Yeremia won the first set before losing the second. They then took the lead in the third set and had a great chance of reaching the semifinals.

Unfortunately, Jeremiah's injury allowed Malaysia to be free to generate points and win the match. This victory also avenged their defeat to Pram/Yere in the 2022 Asian Championship final.

"I really think that if this game is 99 percent lost, but it's not the mind that gives up, there is a feeling, whatever it is he's injured but it's not visible if he pushes," he said.
