JAKARTA — Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti's steps in the Indonesia Open 2022 must stop in the quarter-finals. They failed to reach the semifinals after being beaten by Korean representatives Lee So Hee / Shin Seung Chan.

Lee/Shin won the match with a score of 21-14 and 21-19 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday, June 17, 2022. This was their third consecutive victory over Indonesian representatives since the first round.

Lee/Shin previously defeated Febby Valencia Dwijayanti/Ribka Sugiarto in the first round. They then defeated the pair Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi in the second round.

Apriyani/Fadia immediately fell behind by two points at the start of the game. Attempts to equalize the score did not go smoothly as Korea took the lead by four points at the interval.

After the break, Apri/Fadia's efforts to catch up with their opponents were still complicated. Opponents scored five straight points after 15-13 to get match points and then came out victorious after missing the first attempt.

Apriyani/Fadia then stole a good start in the second game by producing five consecutive points. Even though Lee/Shin had reduced the score to 9-10, Apriyani/Fadia were still able to lead by two points at the break.

After the interval, the Korean pair's efforts to match the score paid off to 17-17. Representatives of Indonesia who were in a depressed position then only produced two more points.

This is Lee/Shin's revenge. Previously, the two pairs met in the same round at the Indonesia Masters last week. At that time, it was Apri/Fadia who came out as winners.

Indonesia still has three representatives who are fighting after this. They are the men's singles Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and the men's doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan.
