Accompanying FIFA To Review Solo's Manahan Stadium As The Venue For The U-20 World Cup, Gibran Rakabuming: All FIFA Inputs Will Be Followed Up

SOLO - FIFA representatives reviewed the readiness of the Solo Manahan Stadium, which will be the venue for the U-20 World Cup in 2023. Not only the field, supporting facilities and infrastructure are also checked for readiness.

In addition to the Manahan Solo Stadium, FIFA representatives also visited Sriwedari Stadium, West City Square, Sriwaru, and Banyuanyar. Checks were conducted behind closed doors, Tuesday, June 14.

"FIFA is only checking the preparation of supporting facilities and infrastructure. The point is that everything is ready," said the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as reported by Antara.

Gibran said FIFA was not only checking the readiness of Solo, but also three other cities which were the venues for the U-20 World Cup. He said the Manahan Stadium, including other facilities, was in accordance with FIFA standards.

The eldest son of President Joko Widodo added that there was a note from FIFA representatives, namely the problem of grass. He said it was easy to solve.

"All FIFA input will be followed up," said Gibran.

As is known, there are six stadiums designated as venues for the U-20 World Cup matches. Besides Manahan Solo, there are also Jakabaring Palembang, Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, Si Starling Harupat Bandung, Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya, and Captain I Wayan Dipta Bali.

Previously, the Ministry of Youth and Sports claimed that all preparations had gone well. However, it is recognized that there are still some improvements that must be made before the venue is actually ready for use.
