JAKARTA - Men's singles, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, became the host representative who opened the 2022 Indonesia Masters. Chico, who appeared first in the qualifying round, successfully won easily over Christo Popov.

Performing at Istora Senayan on Tuesday, June 7, morning WIB. Chico secured two games at once through the match for 38 minutes. Chico closed the game with a score of 21-14 and 21-15

Since the beginning of the first game, Chico got tight resistance from Popov and made the score 4-4. However, Chico managed to show a good game to continue to make the lead in the first interval with a score of 11-6 over the opponent.

After the break Chico did not want to lose the moment. Despite having faced fierce resistance, Chico continued to keep the points from Popov at 18-12. Thanks to his good performance, Chico was able to secure the first game with a score of 21-14.

Entering the second game, Chico's performance actually declined and made Popov turn to excel in the early points. However, Chico came back to keep the points tally to 11-8 over Popov in the second interval.

After the interval, Chico continued to press Popov's game and kept him ahead through important points. As a result, Chico also won the second game over Popov with a score of 21-15. Thanks to this victory, Chico has the right to pass the qualification to enter the next round.

Andi Fadel Muhammad also followed Chico's steps. He won 20-22, 21-10 and 21-13 over the representative of India, Subhankar Dey.

Another Indonesian men's single, Classius Chris Belandro, failed to advance to the next round. He fell to the representative of Egypt, Adham Hatem Elgamal with a score of 16-21 and 8-21.
