South African Rugby National Team Coach Apologizes After His Twitter Shares Porn Videos: I Was Hacked!

JAKARTA - South African rugby club boss Rassie Erasmus apologized after his Twitter account shared pornographic videos. However, he denied doing so, citing hackers as the culprit.

Erasmus, who served as head coach during a successful 2019 World Cup including victory over England in the final, has 89k followers on the platform and only follows one account.

While he usually shares clips and updates on rugby union and South Africa, his name went viral on Twitter for the wrong reasons on Saturday morning, June 4 with an apology and explanation following at a later date.

Her account retweeted a very vulgar adult video, and she then enlisted the help of her followers to try to remove it.

The 49-year-old former Munster and Barbarian coach later confirmed that his account was hacked by a troublemaker trying to embarrass him.

However, he also said that he was very sorry for the unexpected video that appeared on his social media feed.

In the first tweet, Erasmus said: "Sorry guys about the inappropriate tweet!! I got hacked!! So sorry about that!! I'm trying to sort it out!!! Rassie."

The second read: "Guys, the hackers still seem to have retweets of the previous one appearing in a few places even though it was deleted on my side and reported. Hope my account gets sorted soon. Rassie."

Erasmus, a winger and number eight, played for South Africa between 1997 and 2001. He made 36 appearances and scored 35 points.

His coaching career began in 2004 with the Free State Cheetah. Since then held four different roles with Springboks.

He was then appointed head coach of the national team following the sacking of Allister Coetzee in 2018, concurrently serving as director of rugby, before returning to the position in 2020.
