Shin Tae-yong Hopes 3 Naturalized Players Can Appear In The 2023 Asian Cup Qualifiers, Jordi Amat And Sandy Walsh Are Invited To Practice Together

JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, admitted that he really hopes that the three players who are undergoing the naturalization process can join and appear in the 2023 Asian Cup Qualification which will take place from 8-14 June 2022 in Kuwait. The three players are Jordi Amat, Sandy Walsh, and Shayne Pattynama.

Shin Tae-yong said they were in the master plan. For this reason, he really hopes that PSSI and the government can immediately complete the naturalization process of the three so that they can be registered for the 2023 Asian Cup Qualifiers.

"They are in my 'plan A'. I ask the government to speed up their naturalization," Shin said, as quoted by Antara. "Menpora and General Chairperson of PSSI said that they are helping to accelerate the naturalization."

Although included in plan A, the South Korean coach is still ready if the three cannot be included in the 2023 Asian Cup Qualification round.

"If they don't join the team, we will still prepare the squad optimally," said Shin.

Although it is not certain whether they will be able to appear in the 2023 Asian Cup Qualifiers, Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh received an invitation from the former South Korean national team coach to train with his squad.

"If it is possible, I want them to train with the national team," he said.

The Indonesian national team will undergo a training camp (TC) in Bandung starting Friday, May 27. This is in preparation for the upcoming FIFA friendly match against Bangladesh, Wednesday, June 1, which will be held at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung.

Jordi and Sandy had the opportunity to take part in the exercise because they were both in Indonesia. They are waiting for the completion of their citizenship to become Indonesian citizens so that they can defend the Indonesian national team in the 2023 Asian Cup Qualification.

Getting an offer to join the Garuda Squad in training, Jordi said he would be very happy to do so.

According to Jordi, training can increase the level of physical fitness that he continues to maintain by practicing regularly individually at his residence in Barcelona, Spain, as the 2021-2022 Belgian League season is complete.

However, the Spanish footballer wants to first confirm whether he can legally participate in the Indonesian national team training or not.

"Hopefully all processes are completed and I can immediately join the squad," said Jordi Amat.
