Indonesia Will Face Vietnam In The 2023 U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers

JAKARTA - The 2023 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification Drawing will be held on Tuesday afternoon. From this result, it is known that Indonesia will face Vietnam.

Indonesia, which is the host of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification, is in Group F with Vietnam, Hong Kong and Timor Leste.

The Indonesian U-19 national team is actually in pot 1, aka the seeded pot, because it qualified for the quarter-finals of the U-19 Asian Cup in 2018. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has canceled the 2020 U-19 Asian Cup.

For the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup qualifying round, there are 43 teams registered and divided into 10 groups with five teams in each group. While the remaining two groups contain only four teams.

A total of 10 group winners will qualify for the finals of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup which will be held in Uzbekistan. The other six teams will be determined by the best runner-up route.

If Uzbekistan wins the status of group winner or best runner-up in the qualifying round, then the best runner-up quota will be opened for the other six teams.

The plan is that the entire series of Group F matches for the U-20 2023 Asian Cup Qualification will be held in Jakarta on September 14-18, 2022.
