JAKARTA - The Jakarta Series Formula E race will be held on June 4. The electric land jet racers will compete at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) Ancol, North Jakarta.

This series will be a big challenge for the riders. This is because the circuit of the pride of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, is the first time to hold a race.

The racers are believed to be still blind to the character of the street circuit located in Ancol. Mercedes-EQ racer Stoffel Vandoorne agrees.

"Next, a very different circuit. I even know what it looks like now," said Vandoorne after the race in Berlin, as reported by the official Formula E website.

Vandoorne, who had come to Jakarta, said the race would be very challenging. The hot and humid weather is believed to be difficult for the riders.

"So far, I don't know what to expect. However, I can't wait to race there," he said.

As previously reported, the Jakarta Formula E racing committee reportedly did not give the racers the opportunity to do a track test. Later, they will immediately pave at JIEC Ancol.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee (OC) for the Jakarta EPrix 2022, Ahmad Sahroni, said that the track test was not implemented because there was already the use of a simulator.

He said that Formula E is different from Formula 1. "F1 is all circuit countries whose existing circuits already exist," he said.
