JAKARTA – Bilqis Prasista admits that he still has many shortcomings to become the world's top player. However, he was ready to fix that.

There are at least four important things that the Indonesian women's singles must continue to develop. This can be seen when Bilqis lost to China's representative He Bingjiao in the third party of the 2022 Uber Cup quarter-finals between Indonesia and China.

In that match, the children of national badminton legends Joko Suprianto and Zelin Resiana actually played well. He managed to win the first game before losing the next two games.

"I've been able to play well. I just haven't been able to maintain consistency, (have to) play without a burden, enjoy the game, and believe in my own abilities. That's the main thing to be able to win the game," said the player born in 2003.

The defeat against He Bingjiao was the only defeat that Bilqis had in the four matches she played during her debut in the most prestigious women's team event.

Previously, he made it through the group stage perfectly. He beat French representative Yaelle Hoyaux in the first match and then won over Germany's Florentine Schoffski in the second match.

At the peak, he managed to make a surprise by overthrowing world number one badminton player Akane Yamaguchi in straight sets.

"I have to train harder to improve and be able to compete in a lot of small-level tournaments first to boost my ranking which is still in the 300s," he said.
