Valencia Has Forgotten Failure In The Copa Del Rey, Fully Focused On Hosts Levante At The Mestalla

JAKARTA - Valencia will host Levante in Week 34 of the Spanish La Liga at the Mestalla Stadium, Saturday, April 30. Los Che faced this match with a capital failure in the Copa Del Rey, 24 April.

In the Copa del Rey final, Valencia failed to win after losing on penalties to Real Betis. The defeat is believed to be haunting Valencia ahead of the match against Levante.

However, this assumption was denied by Valencia coach, Jose Bordalas. He said the Valencia players were very focused on the match against Levante.

"My mood is very good. I am a person who lives in the present. The final in Sevilla, for me, is now behind us now," said Bordalas, as quoted by Antara.

"I am focused on tomorrow's game and try to score as many points as possible for the rest of the season. Mathematically, there is still a chance to be in the top flight."

At the first meeting, Valencia was able to beat Levante through a seven-goal drama which ended in a 4-3 victory. Goals for Los Che were scored by Goncalo Guedes and Carlos Soler, who each contributed two goals.

Bordalas believes the match will be different from the first meeting. The reason is, the opposing team has developed in the last few weeks and is trying to get out of the relegation zone.

"We know it will be a difficult match and it will not be like the first game. It will be a close match and we have to compete at the highest level if we are to win," said Bordalas.

Currently, Valencia is in 10th position in the standings with 42 points from 33 matches. If they are able to wipe out all the remaining matches in the Spanish League, it is not impossible for them to secure the European zone position.

Even so, this is certainly influenced by the results of their competitors such as Osasuna, Athletic Bilbao, Villarreal, Real Sociedad and Real Betis.
