Hoping To Get A Long Contract At Persija, Konate: I Feel At Home Here

JAKARTA - Football player from Mali, Makan Konate just joined the capital club, Persija Jakarta in the middle of the season. However, he is starting to feel at home with the Capital City team

Konate only joined Persija in January 2022, but his presence in the team immediately had a positive impact. From 23 chances to play, he managed to record 7 goals and 7 assists.

Now, the player who once strengthened the Malaysian club, Terengganu FC, wants to last longer with the pride of Jakmania.

"I've been here half a year. Hopefully if there is sustenance I will be consistent here. I want to play longer at Persija too,” said Konate.

The 30-year-old player is known to have had a career in a number of countries. However, Konate, who also had time to wear Persib Bandung uniform, admitted that only Indonesia made him feel at home.

According to Konate, being in Indonesia made him feel valued. Therefore, Konate feels very comfortable working here.

“I am very happy to be able to go to Indonesia again because I have many memories here. I have a lot of sustenance here too, although since 2010 I have been to several countries,” explained Konate.

“However, Indonesia is preferred over the others. I've been in Libya, been in Tunisia, in Malaysia too, I feel at home here," concluded the player who had defended Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya.

Konate is said to be one of the foreign players that Persija will retain for League 1 next season. Meanwhile Marco Motta, Marko Simic, and Rohit Chand still haven't got a bright spot.
