Beckham's Favorite Number Has Been Used, Ciro Alves Choose 77

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung's new bomber, Ciro Alves has confirmed that he will wear the number 77 in his new club uniform even though it is not his favorite number.

"I chose the jersey number 77. My favorite number is actually 7, but there are other players who have worn it," said Ciro, quoted by Antara from the club's official website, Sunday.

Because number 7 has been used by Beckham Putra Nugraha, Alves, who is a former Persikabo 1973 player, finally decided to choose the number 77 which is still close to his favorite number.

However, Ciro does not question the jersey number and will not also affect his appearance with the Blue Prince squad.

"This is not a problem and will not affect the performance. I will continue to give the maximum performance for Persib in every match," he said.

The Brazilian player admitted that he was happy to be joining Maung Bandung, another nickname for Persib for Liga 1 2022/2023.

Ciro was announced to be part of Robert Alberts' squad on 13 April 2022 and signed a contract with a duration of two years plus the option of a season extension.

"Yes, finally I was able to join Persib. This is one of the biggest clubs in Indonesia with very good management and has amazing fans. I am very happy to be joining this team," said Ciro.

Ciro's appearance in Liga 1 2021/2022 while strengthening Persikabo 1973 was fairly bright by recording 20 goals and six assists in 32 appearances for the club nicknamed Laskar Padjajaran.
