JAKARTA - Indonesian All-Star U-18 player, Brylian Aldama, gave a quite surprising statement. The midfielder who helped bring Indonesia to win the 2018 AFF U-16 Cup admitted that he was no longer with the Croatian club, HNK Rijeka.

He said he had asked the club to terminate his contract as a player. This announcement also ends the confusion in the news regarding his fate.

"Since I no longer play in Croatia, there has been a lot of slanted news about me. However, I emphasize that I returned to Indonesia not because I was sent home. It was I who asked for my contract to be terminated," said Brylian, who helped Indonesia All Star at the International event. Youth Championship (IYC) 2021.

As reported by Antara, Brylian Aldama was previously contracted for 18 months by HNK Rijeka. The former Indonesian U-16 and U-19 national team player was first introduced by his club in early April 2021.

However, Brylian struggled to break into the first team and was eventually loaned to another Croatian club, NK Pomorac 1921 in August 2021 before his contract with HNK Rijeka ended midway, in February 2022 to be exact.

The 20-year-old could not reveal the reason behind his request. But what is certain, Brylian is without a club at this time.

However, he admits that he continues to maintain his physical condition with the help of several of his childhood coaches. For a long time not feeling the atmosphere of the match, Brylian immediately accepted the offer of Ilham Romadhona, who had been a companion coach on the Garuda Select team, to join the U-20 Indonesia All Star squad that competed at IYC 2021.

"I immediately said 'yes', when the coach offered me to join Indonesia All Star. I really needed a match like this, with a professional atmosphere. It's been a long time since I felt a decent match like IYC 2021," said Brylian.

"Brylian is still there and hasn't run out. And there are still many players like Brylian in the Indonesian league, they just haven't had the chance to play yet," said Ilham.
