Destroy Southampton 6-0 At Home, Chelsea Confident Against Real Madrid

JAKARTA - Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel delights in the hunger and commitment of his players amid a busy and difficult schedule when they find their way again after two poor results as they thrashed Southampton 6-0 in the Premier League on Saturday night.

The Londoners entered St Mary's Stadium losing 3-1 to Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday and lost a shock 4-1 to Brentford last weekend in the league.

But goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount eased concerns about missing form going into this crucial part of the season.

"This shows we are not a team that complains about results if our input is not 90 percent of the commitments and investments. We are a special group when we have the right priorities," Tuchel told reporters as quoted by Reuters.

"If we are committed, defend bravely, have the right attitude and the right hunger, then this is the foundation for us to show quality," said Tuchel again.

"It's not easy to have this hunger and commitment because we came from a cruel schedule. It's not about blaming the players, I understand why it's difficult after the international break, but we have quality," continued Tuchel.

Chelsea travel to Real Madrid this weekend, before taking on Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semi-final next weekend.
