Persebaya Coach Demands That PSSI And PT LIB Take Advantage Of The Delay To Finalize The League 1 Health Protocol

JAKARTA - The League 1 competition was officially postponed because it did not get permission from the crowd from the police. It is not yet known how long the continuation of the League 1 competition will be postponed.

General Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Mochamad Iriawan, expressed his hope that this delay would only last for one month. This means that the continuation of the League 1 competition can be held in November 2020.

Persebaya Surabaya coach, Aji Santoso, asked PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru to take advantage of this delay. He hopes that the health protocol for League 1 competitions will be completely refined.

The former coach of the Indonesian national team demanded clarity from PSSI and PT LIB regarding mitigation and handling if cases arise during the competition. An example of a case is when the Persik Kediri and Persebaya players who recently tested positive.

Aji Santoso emphasized that if the competition must be continued, it should be held in absolutely safe conditions. The reason is, continued Aji Santoso, this is related to the safety of many people.

"In the sense that high-level health protocols must be implemented, because somehow it deals with the soul," said Aji Santoso.

"From the beginning I have also told you, if there is a positive thing like what happened in Persebaya, what will the handling and response be from the federation and PT LIB," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Persebaya Surabaya continued to hold training even though the continuation of the League 1 competition was finally postponed. Aji Santoso implemented fun training to maintain the condition of the club's employee, nicknamed Bajul Ijo. In addition, this exercise is expected to restore the mood of the Persebaya players.

The former Persela coach did not deny that the delay in the League 1 competition schedule had an effect on the players. Motivation of the players decreased because they were disappointed to not compete this October.

"I see this is also the passion of players not as usual, but that's normal," said Aji Santoso.
