Beat Atalanta 3-1, Napoli Close To AC Milan At The Top Of The Standings

JAKARTA - Napoli is closely tied to leaders AC Milan after beating Atalanta with a score of 3-1 on matchday 31 of the Italian League at Gewiss Stadium, Sunday.

According to Antara, three goals for the Partenopei were scored by Lorenzo Insigne, Matteo Politano, and Elif Elmas, while Marten de Roon scored the goals for Atalanta.

This result makes the Partenopei stick tightly to AC Milan at the top of the standings. Both teams have 66 points each, but Napoli has played once more than the Rossoneri.

Meanwhile, Atalanta is increasingly difficult to enter the top four. The club from Bergamo sits in the seventh position with 51 points, eight points behind Juventus in fourth.​​​​

Atalanta immediately appeared to attack in the first minute. However, their first real chance only came in the 8th minute through Ruslan Malinovsky's header. Unfortunately, the ball can still be secured by David Ospina.

Instead of getting the goal first, Atalanta suffered a penalty in the 14th minute after goalkeeper Juan Musso fouled Dires Mertens. Lorenzo Insigne advanced as executor and successfully brought Napoli a 1-0 lead.

Atalanta stepped up their attack even more after conceding. However, the tight Napoli defense made Gian Piero Gasperini's team often shoot from outside the penalty box.

Napoli was able to steal a second goal from Atalanta in the 36th minute, Matteo Politano tearing La Dea's goal from close range by utilizing Insigne's assist.

The home team was never able to provide a significant threat to Napoli's goal. Until halftime, the score remained 2-0 for Napoli.

Atalanta threatened early in the second half through Jeremie Boga's two attempts. However, none of them could lead to the goal.

The goal was finally created for Atalanta in the 58th minute. Aleksey Miranchuk stabbed in front of the Napoli penalty box and then sent a pass, which was met with a Marten de Roon header. The score changed 1-2.

Various attacks were carried out by Atalanta. Boga posed a threat with a shot in the penalty area in the 76th minute, but Ospina managed to keep the ball out of the way.

A Napoli counter-attack in the 81st minute killed Atalanta. Koulibaly found the ball in the penalty area, who then released a long ball to Hirving Lozano.
