JAKARTA - Mooney VR46 racer, Luca Marini was forced to give up his racing equipment because it was no longer usable. A number of items such as his racing suit or gloves were reported to be moldy because they had been in the cargo box for too long.

The team defended by Marini is one of the MotoGP teams confirmed that they have not received their cargo at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit ahead of the Argentina 2022 MotoGP event on Friday, April 1 yesterday.

"It cost us a lot. We had nothing in the paddock, and when I think about all the leather we packed in the box after the wet race at the Mandalika MotoGP, it must have been moldy by now," said Marini, quoted from Speedweek.

"The leather racing suit and gloves may have to be thrown away," the 24-year-old added.

Another consequence of the slow receipt of cargo is also called Marini will make the VR46 team through the practice and qualifying sessions on Saturday, April 2 with an uneasy mood.

"The shipping crates won't arrive until evening, so we have to try and set up the paddock as soon as possible. Because we have to go to bed at some point and a stressful Saturday awaits us," said Marini.

"It's certainly detrimental, but that's how it is. We have to adapt and help each other. If the mechanics in the pits need help, then of course (Marco) Bezzecchi and I will do our best to support them," explained Marini.

It's not just the Mooney VR46 whose cargo is stuck, until Saturday morning Argentina time, a number of teams such as Ducati, Gresini Racing, RNF Yamaha, Monster Energy Yamaha and Suzuki also experienced the same thing.

The delay in receiving the cargo for the preparation of the Argentina 2022 MotoGP was known because the plane was stuck in Mombasa, Kenya. Whereas shipments from Indonesia have always been carried out previously on Wednesday, March 30 and are expected to arrive in Argentina on Thursday, March 31.

On Saturday, April 2 at noon Indonesian time, MotoGP confirmed that all cargo had arrived in Argentina.
