Considering Club Interests, IBL Chooses To Set Back 2020 Season Competition

JAKARTA - The operator of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) postponed the implementation of the continuation of the competition. IBL 2020 will be held mid 13-27 October 2020. This postponement is not without reason.

Director of IBL, Junas Miradiarsyah said the decision to postpone the continued implementation of this competition was taken after considering several aspects. This includes giving clubs more preparation time.

"To face the upcoming play-offs," said Junas.

He revealed, the schedule for the continued implementation of the IBL competition has been informed to all IBL participating clubs. Including the venue, namely Mahaka Square Arena, Jakarta.

Currently, the IBL operator is finalizing plans for the continued implementation of the competition. Junas asked the club to comply with health protocols, both during training and during matches.

The IBL management continues to monitor the implementation of the developed health protocols. Socialization continues to be carried out intensively in order to prevent the IBL competition from becoming a new cluster of the spread of COVID-19.

"Discipline is the key to preventing the spread of COVID-19," said Junas.

Previously, IBL had coordinated with a number of parties related to the continued implementation of the 2020 season competition. The league operator has met with the Mayor of North Jakarta. IBL has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).
