All England 2022: Bagas Is Speechless, Fikri Is Emotional

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, won the 2022 All England tournament. In the final, Bagas/Fikri defeated their seniors, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan through a two-game battle, 21-19 and 21-13.

This achievement is quite extraordinary. Because the All England 2022 is their debut.

In addition, the championship trophy was won by defeating a number of seeds. For example, Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi who are world champions, then Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon who are the world's number one doubles.

"I still can't speak, I'm touched, I can't believe it. Happy and proud mixed into one," said Bagas as reported by the official Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) website.

Bagas did not expect to be able to climb the highest podium. He admitted that he was very happy to be able to win the title at the All England.

Meanwhile, a feeling of emotion surrounds Fikri. He even cried after confirming himself to be the champion.

"I couldn't hold my tears because I didn't expect to win here," he said.

Fikri also dedicate this title to Indonesia, the coach, family and people who have supported them.
