Receiving 69.4 Percent Of Votes, Liliyana Natsir Becomes The Best Badminton Pebulu In A Decade

JAKARTA - Liliyana Natsir was chosen as the best women's badminton player in the last decade. This is based on the results of a poll held by the World Badminton Federation (BWF) via Twitter.

In the final stage, Liliyana won the poll with 69.4 percent of the votes, beating the world number one badminton player from China-Taipei Tai Tzu Ying who was in second place with 30.6 percent.

The 35-year-old woman also managed to beat Carolina Marin (Spain), Huang Yaqiong (China), and Ayaka Takahashi (Japan).

Through her Instagram story, @natsirliliyana, the woman who is familiarly called Butet admitted that she was grateful to get the award. He thanked all his friends and fans who chose him.

"Thank God and thanks also to my friends who have chosen me. You are extraordinary," he wrote.

Launching Antara, Thursday, September 24, throughout his career as a professional badminton player, he has won various titles. He is noted to have collected 51 international titles, including a gold medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics with his partner, Tontowi Ahmad.

In addition, he also won titles in other prestigious events, namely four World Championship titles in 2005, 2007, 2013 and 2017 which he won with Nova Widianto and Tontowi Ahmad.
