Chelsea Go Through Tough Times After Roman Abramovich Ban, Kai Havertz: Our Job Is To Play And Give Fans Smiles

JAKARTA - Chelsea midfielder Kai Havertz confirmed that he will only focus on playing with his team ahead of the match against Lille in the Champions League second leg at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium, Villeneuve d'Ascq, France, Wednesday night local time.

"We are all professional footballers and everyone knows this is a strange situation for the club. We as players will only focus on the football game, that is the best we can do," Havertz said, quoted by Antara from the club's official website, Wednesday.

Havertz thinks the club can sort things out on their own, and he is not able to talk much about it and is only focused on the next game for Chelsea.

Regarding the second leg against Lille, Havertz admitted that this match will not be easy and he will try to focus on the match because the current situation has never happened at Chelsea.

According to him, the situation is a strange thing, but he reiterated that the players will act professionally because the current situation can happen at any time.

"It's not easy for all of us, especially for the whole club, the fans and everyone. The best thing we can do at this moment is to play good football and try to give the fans a smile too in this situation," said Havertz.

"Everything is difficult for us in this moment, but as we saw at the weekend, we can overcome this situation and hopefully tomorrow (today) too."

In the match against Lille, Chelsea only needed a draw in the second leg after previously beating the French representative with a score of 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Currently, Chelsea is going through a difficult time after owner Roman Abramovich has received many sanctions from the British government because of his close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
