Ahead Of Madura United Against Barito Putera, Coached By Coach RD, Fabio Lefuendes: We Will Implement A Strategy He Doesn't Know

JAKARTA - Madura United coach Fabio Lefundes has prepared a special strategy to face Barito Putera made by Rahmad Darmawan who incidentally is the former coach of Laskar Sape Kerrab, nicknamed Madura United.

Rahmad, who is usually called RD, has been in charge of Madura United since the 2020 season until the end of the 2021-2022 BRI Liga 1 series. Then, the team based in Salt Island was handled by Fabio Lefundes.

"He (RD) knows the players one by one who are here, because he was the one who chose to enter Madura (United)," Fabio said, quoted by Antara from the club's official website, Wednesday.

Although most of Madura United's compositions this season were made by RD, Fabio said that his team underwent a few changes in the mid-season transfer market.

A number of new players at Madura United, namely Renan Silva, Hong Jeong-nam, M Fadillah Akbar, Greg Nwokolo, and Alberto Goncalves.

In addition, the Brazilian coach promised to prepare a special strategy so as not to be read by RD.

"We change foreign players and local players as well, and we will do a strategy that he (RD) does not know," said Fabio.

On the other hand, Fabio also knows the quality of several players who previously played for Madura United and have moved to Barito Putera, such as Rafael Silva and Kim Jin-sung.

"My players are there too and I know, work with me and we know what they are doing on the pitch and we can anticipate. We are waiting for a good and interesting game with spectators and the best match for all," he concluded.

In addition, Fabio said that Madura United also got fresh air ahead of the match against Laskar Antasari by re-joining fullback Novan Setya Sasongko after being declared recovered from injury.

Novan suffered an injury when his head was headed by Persebaya Surabaya captain Ahmad Erianto at Ngurah Rai Stadium, Denpasar Bali, Monday, February 28, which forced him to miss the match against Persik Kediri, Saturday, March 5.

After going through the results of the examination showing that there were no serious problems, Novan immediately joined the Madura United training session starting Monday, March 7 last.

The match week 30 of the BRI Liga 1 2021/2022, which pits Madura United with Barito Putera, will be held at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, tonight.
