JAKARTA - The U-19 national team won its first victory in trials during the training camp (TC) in Croatia. PSSI Chairman Mochamad Iriawan appreciated this victory.

The national team beat Qatar 2-1 at the SRC Mladost Stadium, Cakovec, Thursday, September 17. After two previous trial matches suffered two defeats and a draw.

In this match Garuda Muda left behind first, but was able to turn things around through two goals scored by Brylian Aldama in the 18th minute and Mochammad Supriadi in the 84th minute.

"Alhamdulillah, we appreciate the U-19 national team's victory against Qatar. The players played well and worked hard to achieve maximum results," Mochamad Iriawan was quoted from the official PSSI website, Friday.

"Earlier we gave an injection of enthusiasm to the players during the break of the first half. I called the players and coaches to provide motivation. The result is extraordinary that the U-19 national team was able to win," added the man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule.

Meanwhile, Mochammad Supriadi, one of the U-19 national team players, admitted that he was grateful that the U-19 national team was able to win in the match against Qatar.

"Thank you to the Chairman of the PSSI (Mochamad Iriawan) who always gives enthusiasm, motivation and supports us (U-19 national team). Today we played together and worked hard," said Supriadi.

Previously, Garuda Muda had played three trial matches against Bulgaria (0-3), Croatia (1-7) and Saudi Arabia (3-3).

In the next trial match, Indonesia will still face Qatar on Sunday (20/9). After that against Bosnia and Herzegovina (25/9) and Dinamo Zagreb (28/9).
