Burnley Vs Leicester Won By The Visitors, Brendan Rodgers: We Still Have A Long Way To Go

JAKARTA – Leicester City brought home three points when they visited Burnley in the postponed match week 22 of the 2021/2022 Premier League. The Foxes won two goals without reply.

Burnley and Leicester meet at Turf Moor Stadium, Burnley, England, on Wednesday, March 2 early morning WIB. James Maddison and Jamie Vardy scored eight minutes from time.

"James scored a brilliant goal and then you could see the confidence in him. Then Vardy was there and did his best. He was a catalyst for the team," said Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers, quoted by BBC Sport.

This victory also ended Leicester's bad record, which previously did not win in their last five matches in the English highest caste.

This additional three points also makes The Foxes move up one rank on the standings board. They are now in 12th place in the standings with a collection of 30 points from 24 matches.

"There is still a long way to go in this season. We want to go as far as possible in European competition and think about where we are in which position this season," said Rodgers.

Meanwhile, for Burnley this was their first defeat in the last four matches. The Clarets last lost to Liverpool on February 13 last.

Coming home without points at home makes Sean Dyche's squad stay in the relegation zone. Burnley is currently in 18th place in the standings with a collection of 21 points from 25 matches.

They are only one point adrift of Everton who are in the safe zone who have only played 24 matches.
