IBL 2022 Rolls Again March 3 In Jakarta With Bubble System

JAKARTA - The organizers of the highest national basketball caste (IBL) announced plans to continue the 2022 season competition. The remaining regular rounds will be held in a bubble in Jakarta.

After postponing the second series in Bandung earlier this month, IBL is planned to resume on March 3 to 31 at the Bung Karno Basketball Hall, Senayan Jakarta. All personnel will stay centrally at Century Park Hotel Senayan Jakarta.

IBL President Director Junas Miradiarsyah said that before entering the bubble, all personnel had to pass the COVID-19 health protocol procedure. For this reason, the COVID-19 sub Task Force in each team was asked to make strict supervision.

"IBL participating teams will enter the bubble on March 1, of course with COVID-19-free clearance," Junas said in a statement received by VOI.

March 3 was originally set for the holding of the fourth series which was originally planned to take place in the city of Solo. However, the spike in COVID-19 cases that occurred in the second series made the organizers change the format to a bubble system.

Junas said that changing the format in the middle of the season was not easy. However, IBL still tries its best to continue the competition and is consistent regarding the COVID-19 mitigation policy which is their main concern.

"Jakarta is the ideal choice for current conditions," Junas said.

Jakarta was chosen as the venue to continue the competition following the meeting of the contestant teams on Friday, 18 February. This city is considered to have more adequate supporting facilities.

As of February 21, 2022, all personnel are expected to start self-quarantining and carry out the first PCR swab test the next day. After that they had to run a second PCR test on 27 February.

Then before entering the bubble all personnel will undergo a third PCR swab test.
