Appearing At BATC Indonesian Badminton Team Gets An Injecting Spirit From The Indonesian Ambassador To Malaysia

Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Malaysia Hermono was present and provided support for the Indonesian team that will appear in the 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships (HUMAS PBSI)

JAKARTA – The Indonesian badminton team for the 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships (BATC) received an injection of enthusiasm from the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Malaysia Hermono.

Apart from entertaining Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and his friends, he also supported them directly on the field. He mingled with the fans to give encouragement to the Red and White squad at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia.

"I came to watch and support the Indonesian team," said Hermono as in an official statement received by VOI.

Harmono was present on the field when the Indonesian men's and women's teams played their preliminary match against Korea on Thursday, February 17th. In that match, both the men's team and the women's team managed to bring home the victory with an identical score of 3-2.

After the women's team's victory, Hermono immediately visited the players in the player lounge. There he gave advice and invited the team to pray.

"Keep fighting passionately, and never give up. I will support and hopefully the Indonesian men's team can win," he said.

After supporting directly on the field, Hermono then entertained the players with a menu of Nasi Padang at the Sunway Pyramid Hotel, Selangor, on Friday, February 18th. He came with the market snacks.

The players, coaches, and the support team also received a special dish of the famous durian musang king. The badminton team immediately rushed in so they could enjoy the delicious durian fruit in the hotel yard.

"Please enjoy this durian. It's a shame there are not so many months of February. In June or July, the harvest season is over," said Hermono.

The men's and women's teams qualified for the semifinals with the status as group winners. The men's team only secured their semifinal ticket after beating India on Friday afternoon, while the women's team had already got their ticket to the semifinals after beating Korea.
