Facing Persebaya, 25 Persija Players Have Tested Negative For COVID-19 But Rohit Chand Is Still Positive

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta received positive news ahead of the match against Persebaya. A number of players who previously tested positive for COVID-19 have now tested negative.

Based on the results of the swab test on Friday, February 11, the total number of players who are now negative to 25 people. Previously there were only 11 negative names so the Kemayoran Tigers match in week 24 against Madura United on Wednesday, February 9, was postponed.

"Thank God it's negative. I hope my condition doesn't drop too much. Because when I tested positive, I had a fever for two days," said Persija Jakarta midfielder Ichsan Kurniawan, quoted from the club website.

Apart from Ichsan, 24 other players who have tested negative are Adrianus Dwiki Arya, Andritany Ardhiyasa, Braif Fatari, Hadi Ardiansyah, Ikhwan Ciptady Muhammad, Ilham Rio Fahmi, and Imam Pathuroman.

Then there are Ismed Sofyan, Rangga Widiansyah, Marko Simic, Maman Abdurahman, Muhammad Ferarri, Osvaldo Ardiles Haay, Radzky Syahwal Ginting, Raka Cahyana Rizky, Riko Simanjuntak, and Ryuji Utomo.

In addition there are Syahrian Abimanyu who just returned from the U-23 Indonesian national team, Adixi Lenzivio, Makan Konate, Samuel Christianson Simanjuntak, Alfriyanto Nico Saputro, Otavio Dutra, and Marco Motta.

After receiving negative results, the names immediately underwent regular training on Saturday, February 12. This exercise is in preparation for the match against Persebaya on Monday, February 14.

Ichsan said that even during the quarantine period he and his colleagues continued to practice. Outside of training with friends he also underwent additional training to maintain his physical condition when he contracted COVID-19.

"So, if I get a chance to appear, I'm ready to be deployed," said Ichsan.

However, there are still seven players who have not been able to join the Kemayoran Tiger squad. Because they are still positive based on the latest test results, including Rohit Chand.

Apart from that, there are also Cahya Supriadi, Irfan Jauhari, and Taufik Hidayat. The last three names are still undergoing a period of isolation in the U-23 Indonesian national team after canceling their departure for the U-23 AFF Cup in Cambodia.

Persija is currently in seventh place in the standings by collecting 33 points. Simic and his friends are still 16 points adrift of Arema FC and Bhayangkara FC who occupy the top two positions.
