Klopp Praises Diogo Jota Who Performed Well In Winning Liverpool's 2-0 Win Over Leicester City

JAKARTA - Liverpool succeeded in picking up a full victory against Leicester City in the 24th week of the 2021/2022 Premier League on Friday, February 11 in the morning WIB. In the match at Anfield Stadium, the hosts won with a final score of 2-0 over the visitors.

The two points secured by Liverpool could not be separated from the slick appearance of Diogo Jota, who successfully scored a goal through his brace in the 34th and 87th minutes.

For his outstanding performance on the pitch against Leicester, Jurgen Klopp as the coach of the Reds did not hesitate to praise Jota. Klopp admitted that he was happy with the contribution of the goals created and according to him Jota's presence really helped the team in their hunt for victory.

"We had a feeling that (the goals) could happen. Diogo (Jota) is not an offer, it's not as if we got him for free," Klopp said when asked if Jota would be Liverpool's goal machine after the match, reported by Sky Sports.

Klopp then emphasized that Jota's potential to become Liverpool's goal machine was already in him. The level of performance that Jota provides is something that matters. Therefore, if a player has the potential to become a goal machine, their performance must continue to be improved.

The German coach also said Jota is still very young so he must continue to improve his scoring prowess. Moreover, in this match, Liverpool actually had many opportunities.

"You need a bit of fantasy for that and imagination, but we really think he (Jota) will be an amazing player. He was like that when he came here but time keeps him improving," Klopp said.

With this 2-0 victory over Leicester, Liverpool could further shorten the distance with the leader of the standings, Manchester City. Until the 24th week, City sat in first place with a score of 60 points, while Liverpool followed in second place with 51 points.
