Allegri Says The Match Against Verona Was Difficult But It Was An Important Day To Win

JAKARTA - Juventus won a perfect result when they hosted Hellas Verona in the 24th week of the Italian League 2021/2022. In the match which took place at the Allianz Stadium on Monday, February 7, the Old Lady won 2-0 over the visitors.

Juventus' victory could not be separated from the contribution of their new player, Dusan Vlahovic, who opened the scoring when the match was running for 13 minutes. The score was then doubled by Desenis Zakaria in the 61st minute.

The sweet result of Juventus' struggle was welcomed by the coach, Massimiliano Allegri who later also admitted that this was not an easy meeting. However, Allegri said the encounter with Verona was an important day to win.

"We approached Verona's movement well, the sincerity of all the players was clear. I am happy with this performance," said Allegri as quoted from the official Juventus website.

"But we have to stay calm and composed because there is still a long way to go and today was important to win, because it would be a shame if this enthusiasm was not taken advantage of."

Successfully closing the game with three points, Allegri did not get comfortable. The 54-year-old coach still praised and congratulated Verona for the good game she displayed. The reason is, the game presented by the visiting team forced the Old Lady players to have to fight hard throughout the match.

After picking up victory in the 24th week of the Italian League, Allegri then asked his team to return to focus on the next match. Because the Old Lady has a schedule to appear in the Italian Cup.

"I'm very happy with the performance of all the players, now let's focus on the next game. Thursday is the Italian Cup, then we will go to Bergamo for an important game in the league."

From this victory, Juventus can return to the top four of the standings with a value of 45 points. But their position is not safe, because the distance with the teams below is very thin.

Juventus are only two points ahead of fifth-placed Atalanta, where La Dea have one more game in hand. The Bianconeri are also six points adrift of sixth and seventh-placed Lazio and AS Roma.
