JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali emphasized that the WADA Task Force for the Acceleration of Settlement of Sanctions still has homework to carry out an investigation into the causes of Indonesia's non-compliance in administering doping samples.

According to Zainudin, the investigation needs to be carried out to prevent the WADA sanction incident from happening again.

"There are three directions from President Joko Widodo regarding this, firstly improving communication with WADA, secondly fulfilling all WADA's requests, and investigating why this happened. I am sure that the investigation task can be completed quickly," said Zainudin as quoted by Antara, Monday, February 7th.

"The Task Force team is still investigating. In the days ahead, they are still on duty. The sanctions from WADA have been lifted, but the team will work with the next task until it is completed," he added.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the WADA Sanctions Settlement Task Force, Raja Sapta Oktohari, said that his party was still waiting for an official letter from the authorities before being able to carry out the investigation process.

"We will wait for official letters from relevant stakeholders, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and others so that the process can be transparent so that we can find out where it went wrong so it doesn't happen in the future," said Okto.

WADA on February 3 officially lifted the sanctions imposed on the Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) after Indonesia was previously declared non-compliant with the WADA Code in administering doping samples by not meeting the minimum annual doping test threshold.

However, IADO is still under WADA surveillance for the next three months even though it has been declared exempt from sanctions by the world anti-doping agency.

Not only that, IADO will also be monitored by the Japanese Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) as the institution that has been assigned by WADA to provide assistance to IADO in meeting its compliance status.
