Marquez Declared Fiit, Ready To Test New Motorcycle In MotoGP Preseason Test At Sepang

JAKARTA - Repsol Honda team racer Marc Marquez was declared fit to return to racing after an injury. Shortly, he will test the new Honda RC213V at the MotoGP pre-season test session on February 5 in Sepang, Malaysia.

Throughout the winter, Marquez has undergone continuous medical examinations to monitor the diplopia or double vision he experienced following an accident while training on motocross towards the end of last season.

The Repsol Honda team in an official statement stated that in recent weeks, the improvement in the rider's condition led the medical team to declare Marquez's recovery sufficient to allow him to return to training on two wheels.

Marquez has also practiced motocross before testing the Honda RC213V-S in Portimao and Honda CBR60RR in Aragon last week.

"Last Monday, January 24, Marquez underwent another medical check, which reconfirmed that his treatment was completed successfully, and the eight-time world champion is in a suitable condition to ride a MotoGP bike", the team said in a statement quoting Antara on Wednesday.

Marquez is scheduled to start the 2022 season campaign with a pre-season test in Sepang, Malaysia before sliding to the new circuit, Mandalika in Indonesia the following week.
