Persija Confirms Marco Motta Is Absent Against Persita Due To Injury

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta coach, Sudirman, gave news about the condition of his players ahead of the match against Persita in week 21 of Liga 1 2021/2022. He confirmed, wing-back Marco Motta will be absent.

Persija will meet Persita in the opening match of the fourth series, Wednesday, January 26 at I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali. However, in that match Motta was confirmed to be absent due to a serious injury.

The former Juventus player was forced to retire due to an ankle injury. The unfortunate incident happened to Motta when Persija were held to a 1-1 draw by Persela Lamongan, Saturday two weeks ago.

Sudirman explained, the results of the examination stated that the player was injured. Therefore, he had to undergo a recovery.

"The one injured is Marco Motta. In yesterday's match (against Persela) he had a slight ankle injury. After an MRI examination, he was included in our list of injured players," Sudirman said during a press conference ahead of the match, Tuesday, January 25.

"Now in the recovery phase, so I can confirm in tomorrow's game he can't play," continued the coach.

Apart from the latest news about Marco Motta, Persija must try hard to perform optimally in the match against Persita. Because currently the Kemayoran Tigers need to gain a lot of points to get back on the winning track.

In the first round, Marco Simic et al are considered to appear inconsistent and windy. This has resulted in Persija's position in the standings, which is currently stuck in 8th place with 29 points.
