Minister Of Youth And Sports Hopes That Paralympic Athlete Training Camp Will Be Completed Before The Paris 2024 Paralympics

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali wants the Paralympic athlete training camp in Karanganyar, Central Java, to be built in the near future. He wants the facility to be completed before the 2024 Paralympics.

This hope was conveyed by the Minister of Youth and Sports when he visited the location on Saturday, January 22 morning.

He came with the Chairman of the Indonesian National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Seny Marbun, Karanganyar Regent Juliyatmono, and Deputy for Achievement Improvement Chandra Bhakti.

"When the construction starts, it will be submitted to the Ministry of PUPR. I hope that before the 2024 Paralympics, athletes can depart from here," said Menpora Amali in an official statement obtained by VOI.

The plan to build the training camp began when President Joko Widodo received the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic athletes. On that occasion the Head of the NPC conveyed the idea regarding the construction of a training ground for Paralympic athletes.

"That's where this location was finally appointed. I think the construction of the Paralympic National Training Camp will have a good impact on improving Indonesia's achievements,” said Amali.

The Menpora is on a working visit to Central Java on Friday, January 21. There he visited the training ground for paralympic athletes at the Kusuma Sahir Prince Hotel, Solo.

Amali is here to motivate the athletes who will face several agendas this year. The man who was born in Gorontalo asked the Paralympic athletes to keep their spirits up so that they could give achievements for Indonesia.

"I ask the athletes to continue to train enthusiastically, what the administrators and coaches have done for you is solely so that you can give the best achievements for Indonesian sports," said the Menpora.

Paralympic athletes will face a number of important events in time such as the ASEAN Paragames Vietnam 2022 and the 2022 Asian Para Games Hangzhou. Their big agenda is the 2024 Paris Paralympics later.
