LIB Urges Players To Maintain Strict Procedures After 5 Arema FC Players Are Positive For COVID-19

JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) Operations Director Sujarno appealed to all clubs participating in Liga 1 2021/2022 to strictly maintain health protocols (prokes) during the international break.

This was revealed by Sujarno following the discovery of a positive case of COVID-19 that recently attacked five Arema FC players. Sujono conveyed the appeal because he did not want what happened to the Singo Edan team to have a negative impact on the continuation of the competition.

"We urge all clubs to maintain strict health protocols during this international break, so that when starting the competition again there will be no problems. This is for the good of the continuation of the competition," said Sujarno in an official statement received by VOI.

In addition to giving a firm call to each club to maintain progress, Sujarno also provided information about five Arema FC players who had previously tested positive. The players are now starting to improve, some of them have even been negative.

To anticipate this incident, ahead of the start of the competition, Sujarno emphasized all teams to carry out strict inspections according to the agreement.

"After the international break, all of our teams must carry out strict inspections. We want to remind the club that maintaining health protocols has been mutually agreed," he said.

"I don't know if there are players who go to the club. I will again remind the club to obey the health protocol. We don't want what happened to Arema to be experienced by other teams," said Sujarno.

At the same moment, Sujarno also emphasized that the fifth series of Liga 1 2021/2022 would still take place in Bali. This follows rumors circulating that the competition will move to Central Java.

"Until now we are still setting Bali for the fifth series. There are no plans to go there (moving locations). Even if there are changes, we will definitely coordinate with PSSI and the club," he explained.
