JAKARTA - Daniel Agger criticized the use of VAR (Video Assistant chorus) in football. This technology added to the Premier League controversy this season and proved very unpopular with fans.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are the fourth team this week to accept the fact that their goal was canceled. In the match against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday evening 29 December, VAR decided one of their players was offside before the goal was scored.

Responding to the decision, as well as all the fanfare that VAR has caused this season, former Liverpool captain Daniel Agger opened his voice on Twitter.

"I'm lucky enough to be able to play a beautiful game of football without VAR," chirped Agger.

"I think this is a disaster. Even though it helped my team today.

"Just play the game!"

The tweet was complemented by a photo of Agger kicking Robin van Persie in the face during a match between Denmark and the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, Wolves captain Conor Coady said VAR did not work well because his team was disadvantaged by the two decisions in the match.

Liverpool's winning goal in the first half was awarded after referee Anthony Taylor had decided the ball first hit Adam Lallana's arm before being converted into a goal by Mane.

Coady also believed the ball hit Virgil van Dijk's arm first before he sent Lallana a pass which led to Mane's goal.

On the other hand, Wolves, who scored through Pedro Neto shortly after Mane, were disallowed. From VAR replays it appears that the arm of Wolves full-back Jonny Castro is slightly ahead of Liverpool's last man.

"The (VAR) decision kills us, it (VAR) is always against us," Coady, who also felt how difficult it was for Wolves to beat Manchester City 3-2 on Friday because of VAR's decisions, told Sky Sports.

"It's ridiculous. People talk about VAR but they don't ask us (the players) about the situation. For me, it doesn't work."

Coady continued, he spoke with Taylor during the match. Although the referee could be spoken to, he did not get the answer he wanted.

"We thought Van Dijk had a good handball ahead of (Mane's) goal. That's what we thought. Then he [Taylor] told me Van Dijk was too far away. I couldn't understand him. Van Dijk made the pass for the goal, "Coady added.

"He is a fantastic player, and it was a brilliant pass, but, from his voice, he moved it (the hand). So I don't know where we went wrong, but for me it's not a good thing, because it happened twice - against Liverpool and Manchester City, two of the best teams on the planet. "
