Quartararo Missing Fighting With Marquez In MotoGP

JAKARTA – Marc Marquez is still unable to get off the MotoGP race track because of the injury he suffered. The absence of the Spaniard apparently made defending champion Fabio Quartararo miss.

Most of the series in the last two seasons of MotoGP lost one of its best riders. The problem started when Marquez crashed at the beginning of the 2020 season series.

The absence of Marquez apparently left a longing in Quartararo's mind. The French racer admitted that he wanted to compete again with Baby Alien.

"He has not only become a star. He is a sports idol in general. I really want to fight with him again," Quartararo said as quoted from Motosan.

The accident at the start of the 2020 season had a long tail. Marquez had to be absent for a long time before returning to the track in 2021 when the race entered the third series.

However, the 28-year-old racer is still under the shadow of injury so he did not perform optimally. He only posted a total of four podiums with three wins.

At the end of the 2021 season, he had to be sidelined again because he was diagnosed with double vision. Syahdan, Repsol Honda also had to struggle without Marquez in the last two races of the season.

"Marc has been out for over eight months with a very serious injury, and it was understandable that it cost him at the start," said Quartararo.

The 2022 MotoGP schedule will start on March 4-6 2022 at the Losail International Circuit, Qatar. A total of 20 Grand Prix will be held in the 2022 season, including the Mandalika MotoGP.

The season kicks off with an official test later this month at the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia. The test continues to Mandalika before continuing to the 2022 series premiere.
