Ready To Fight In The 2022 Proliga, PLN Electric Jakarta Women's Volleyball Team Has One Foreign Player

JAKARTA - The PLN Electric Jakarta women's volleyball team only has one foreign player to enter the first round of the 2022 Proliga volleyball competition, namely Odina Aliyeva from Azerbaijan.

The introduction of the Jakarta Electric team took place in a hybrid manner on Wednesday. In the biggest volleyball competition in the country, Odina will play with 16 other local players under the command of coach Risco Herlambang.

"Odina is not a random player and later there will be one more (foreign player). Then, even though the team is inhabited by young players, they have enough playing experience," Risco said, quoted by Antara, Thursday.

This season's competition is Odina's second appearance in the Proliga. Previously, the player who played as an outside hitter had defended Jakarta Pertamina Energi in the 2020 season.

In that season, Odina managed to help Jakarta Pertamina Energi reach the final four. Unfortunately, the 2020 competition had to stop midway due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apart from Odina, other names that will strengthen Jakarta Electric this season include Sari Hartati, Yokebed Purari Eka Setyaningrum, Kemuning Dyah Ayu Wenti, Dinda Putri Ivoliana, Shinta Dwi Nurdiana, Sania Clarissa Putri, and Wahida Muntaza Arifin.

There were also Nurlaili Kusumah Diningrat, Aulia Suci Nurfadila, Dheka Asyifa Febriani, Shintia Alliva Mauludina, Aniesya Nurmasitoh Suparno, Putri Andya Agustina, Komang Bumi Rekta, Tiara Ariance Ratna Sanger, and Aurelya Feni Wibowo.

Although the majority of his squad is filled with young players, Rico still has big targets in this season's competition. He wants his team to go all the way to the final four.

"So I am optimistic. The first goal is to enter the final four. After that, we will talk about the next target," said Rico.

PLN's Jakarta Electric women's team had a great achievement in the country's biggest volleyball competition as the owner of the most titles. The six titles were respectively won in 2004, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2016, and 2017.
