JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong expressed optimism ahead of the 2020 AFF Cup final second leg match against Thailand. With confidence, Shin Tae-yong said that there was still a chance to win for the Garuda Squad.

In the first leg Indonesia was shaved off Thailand 4-0. But, for the coach, the results in the previous match could be reversed, because according to him anything can happen in the world of football.

"Indeed, if you look at the previous match it looks impossible (to win), but the ball is round. If we work hard until the end, we will get good results," Shin Tae-yong said in an online press conference ahead of the match followed by VOI, Friday.

To be able to realize the chance of winning, this South Korean coach already has a way. He will try to keep the spirit and recover the physical condition of the national team players when facing Thailand in the second leg later.

"In the future the important thing is to recover the players' physicality. We will not think too much about the score of this first leg match," explained Shin Tae-yong.

"So the focus is on the enthusiasm of the players so that they can give the best performance like during the group stage," he continued.

The second leg of the AFF Cup final itself will be held on Saturday, January 1 at the National Stadium, Singapore.

In the match which took place at 19.30 WIB, the national team was required to win with a big score in order to come out as champions. At a minimum, Evan Dimas et al must score four balls.
