Fiorentina's Busy Moon Chasing Matteo Politano's Signature

JAKARTA - The new Fiorentina coach Giuseppe Iachini will have a busy month at the start of his stint at Firenze. He targets Inter Milan midfielder Matteo Politano as the top list of I Viola recruits.

The Gazzetta dello Sports reports that the former Empoli coach has asked sporting director Daniele Prade to contact the Nerazzurri regarding Politano's situation at the San Siro.

After replacing Vincenzo Montella, who was only able to put I Viola in 15th place in the Serie A standings, the 55-year-old coach is ready to start a number of plans in the January transfer window.

The newspaper claims Iachini wants to be reunited with the 26-year-old in Firenze. Yes, the two worked together at Sassuolo in the 2017-2018 season before the winger finally borrowed Inter.

During his loan spell at La Beneamata last season, Politano scored 10 goals in 36 league games. But after his status was permanent this summer, he has only entered the line-up twice under coach Antonio Conte. This is what makes Iachini want to save the player's career.

Meanwhile. Dennis Praet is another name that Iachini is aiming for. The former Sampdoria player is currently struggling to find a prime position at the Premier League club, Leicester City.

In attack, Fiorentina has been linked with Wolverhampton's Patrick Cutone, Torino's Simone Zaza and SPAL's Andrea Petagna.

Iachini's job is tough. In addition to having to restore the confidence of Fiorentina players, he must also find new players who are able to complete the barren front line of the Tuscany club.
