In The Aftermath Of Showing Off Genitals, Patrich Wanggai Is Suspended For 2 Matches And A Fine Of IDR 50 Million

JAKARTA - North Sulawesi United striker Patrich Wanggai was sanctioned and also fined by the PSSI Disciplinary Committee (Komdis). The sentence was aimed at Wanggai as the aftermath of his controversial act of showing off his genitals in the field.

"He (Patrich Wanggai) provoked the public. At the time of substitution, he left the field making inappropriate movements by showing his genitals even though he was wearing pants to the audience," PSSI wrote in an official statement, Wednesday, December 23.

For this action, Komdis imposed a penalty in the form of a ban from playing for two matches. Not only that, Wanggai was also sentenced to a fine of IDR 50 million.

Wanggai is known to have acted dishonestly when he appeared for North Sulawesi United against Dewa United in the Group Y match in the last 8 of Liga 2 2021 on Monday night, December 20.

When pulled off and replaced by Dilivio Rycard Mamuka in the 79th minute, Patrich cursed towards the stands. The 33-year-old seems to have harbored anger since the game started.

It was at this moment that Wanggai was caught on camera showing off his genitals from behind his pants. Wanggai used both hands to clasp his genitals while showing it to the stands.
