A Total Of 7 Real Madrid Players Exposed To COVID-19 After Alaba And Isco Declared Positive

JAKARTA - Real Madrid confirmed that defender David Alaba and midfielder Isco are the two latest players to be listed as positive for COVID-19 at the Spanish club.

The club stated that Alaba and Isco were infected with the coronavirus Wednesday morning, western Indonesia time.

"Real Madrid reports that two of our players Isco and Alaba have tested positive for COVID-19 based on tests," Madrid said in a statement as quoted by Antara, Wednesday.

With the addition of these two players, Madrid now has seven players who have contracted COVID-19. Marcelo, Marco Asensio, Rodrygo, Gareth Bale, and goalkeeper Andriy Lunin are the five players who have already been infected with the coronavirus.

The announcement of the new COVID-19 case occurred ahead of Madrid's match against Athletic Bilbao in week 21 of the Spanish League at the San Mames Stadium, early Thursday tomorrow.

Apart from the seven players who were confirmed positive for the coronavirus, Carlo Ancelotti's team was also unable to play Luka Modric who still has symptoms even though his test results were negative for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Dani Ceballos and Daniel Carvajal still have physical problems. Defensive midfielder Casemiro was also unable to play due to a card accumulation penalty.

Ancelotti called several players from the Madrid youth team to prepare for the match against Bilbao.
