Mayweather Straddled Messi And Ronaldo's Income

JAKARTA - American boxer Floyd Mayweather became the highest earning athlete for a decade, surpassing the earnings of football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

On Tuesday, December 24, 2019, the business and financial magazine based in the United States, Forbes again released the 10 highest-earning world athletes, and ranked Floyd Mayweather as the richest athlete with a salary of 915 million US dollars (equivalent to Rp12.8 trillion).

Half of Mayweather's income, or around $ 500 million, comes from big battles against Manny Pacquiao in 2015 and Conor McGregor in 2017.

Cristiano Ronaldo is in second place with an income of 800 million US dollars (equivalent to Rp11.2 trillion). The income of the Juventus striker is dominated by sponsorships and advertising promotions on his Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Followed in third place is Barcelona football star Lionel Messi for a fee of 750 US dollars (equivalent to Rp.10.5 trillion).

In addition, the list of the richest athletes also includes several famous names such as basketball player LeBron James, tennis player Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, Kevin Durant, and Lewis Hamilton.
