JAKARTA - French midfielder Blaise Matuidi officially moved to Major League Soccer (MLS). He joined David Beckham's club, Inter Miami.
"Blaise is one of the most successful midfielders of his generation, and we are delighted to have signed him for Inter Miami," said Inter Miami sporting director Paul McDOnough as quoted by Antara, Friday, August 14.
"His world class quality and leadership will be key attributes for the club," he added.
Matuidi spent three seasons at Juventus after being signed from Paris St Germain (PSG), where he briefly played with Beckham. During his time in the Bianconeri shirt, he won the league title every season and proved to be an important part of the Juve squad.
In all, Matuidi made 133 appearances for Juve. Matuidi also led his team to win the Italian Cup title and Italian Super Cup, and helped the French national team win the 2018 World Cup.
Matuidi, 33, made 45 appearances for Juve in the 2019/2020 season. Inter Miami will hope that the arrival of their new player will have a significant impact on their play.

Beckham himself warmly welcomed the arrival of his former teammate.
"I am very happy to welcome my colleague Blaise to Inter Miami. He is a great player and talent and a good figure," he said.
"Having a World Cup winner with Matuidi qualities in our new team is a proud moment, for us owners and for the fans. For me personally, having a former team-mate join our club is something very special, and I can't wait. to welcome him and his family to the good of South Florida, "Beckham continued.
Inter Miami have lost six of the six league games played since joining the competition at the start of the season.
They have the chance to play Matuidi in their inaugural match at home, the Inter Miami CF Stadium, on August 22. They have confirmed that Matuidi will wear the number eight jersey.
