JAKARTA - Antonio Conte admits he can't wait to start with winger Ryan Sessegnon from the start when Tottenham Hotspur travel to Slovenia against Mura in their Group G League Conference match on Friday.

Sessegnon had been sidelined for more than two months with an injury following a groin injury earlier in the season and only returned to play as a substitute against Leeds United in the Premier League last weekend.

"Ryan, in my opinion, has enormous potential," Conte said.

"He is ready to play from the start tomorrow and will do so. I can't wait to watch his performances because he is a good player, talented and still very young with a lot of room to improve."

Purchased from Fulham in 2019, Sessegnon did not get much playing time and had to spend the 2020/21 season on loan at German club TSG Hoffenheim.

The 21-year-old admits that he wants to move on from the injury that has hampered his career for most of 2021.

"It's really frustrating, starting again, stopping again, but hopefully all the worst is over and I can get off the ground now," he said.

"I've missed a lot of minutes this season and all I can do is move forward," said Sessegnon.

Apart from Sessegnon, Conte also hinted that he would do quite a bit of player rotation against Mura, but insisted his team still take Europe's third tier competition seriously.

"For us this is an important competition. We want to treat it seriously to be able to move on to the next round," said Conte.

Tottenham are currently in second place in Group G with seven points, three points behind Rennes at the top.

If they win against Mura, and in another match Rennes beats Vittese Arnhem, then Tottenham will make sure to qualify from the group stage.
